摘要：近年来，越来越多的中国城市对发展有轨电车表现出浓厚的兴趣。首先，明确有轨电车的定义及发展历程，之后以美国波特兰市有轨电车为例介绍有轨电车的最新发展，在此基础上总结有轨电车的种类及特征，最后对有轨电车在公共交通中的作用、有轨电车的适用性及规划设计原则等问题进行探讨。

Exploration of Some Issues about Streetcars: A Case Study of the Latest Streetcar Line in the City of Portland, USA

Abstract：More and more Chinese cities have shown an interest in streetcars in recent years. This paper first discusses the definition and history of streetcar’s transit and introduces the streetcars’ latest development taking the streetcar in Portland, Oregon, USA as an example. Then the paper summarizes the nature and characteristics of streetcars. Finally, the paper explores the role of the streetcar in public transportation, suitability and planning and design principles of the streetcar.
