基于关键交通流向的道路交叉口信号配时方法

摘要:研究适合道路交通现状的信号配时方法,对于提高道路交叉口信号配时的科学性、改善城市交通安全、缓解城市交通拥堵具有重要意义。首先,总结分析了现有信号配时方法的特点及其局限性。然后,针对当前具有代表性的Webster法和ARRB法的缺陷,考虑行人对信号配时的影响,引入关键交通流向概念和判断流程,并以此为基础计算交叉口信号周期和绿灯时间。最后,选取无锡市梁清路和钱荣路上的7个交叉口进行仿真验证和实地测试。结果显示,采用基于关键交通流向的道路交叉口信号配时方法能减少21.7%的车辆平均延误,23.9%的最大排队长度,以及12.8%的平均停车次数。

Critical Movement Based Intersection Signal Timing Approach

Abstract:Proper signal timing design is critical to improve urban traffic safety, and relieve urban traffic congestion at intersections. This paper first analyzes the characteristics and limitations of existing signal-timing design approaches. Then, it introduces the concept of critical movement and the corresponding decision process in view of the deficiencies of the commonly used Webster and ARRB methods with the consideration of pedestrian impact. Based on the proposed concept, this paper further calculates the cycle length and green time allocation. Finally, the paper selects 7 intersections at Liangqing Road and Qianrong Road in Wuxi for simulation and field tests. The results show that the critical movement based signal timing design approach yields reductions in average delay, maximum queue length, and mean vehicle stops by 21.7%, 23.9% and 12.8%, respectively.
