With the shift toward transportation network companies and the eventual adoption of autonomous vehicles, airports have to rethink parking revenues. TRB hosted a webinar on Thursday, April 7, 2022 that identified alternatives for non-aeronautical revenue streams. Presenters discussed methods for estimating future parking needs in an environment of uncertainty. They also illustrated approaches for repurposing existing parking facilities to generate replacement revenue, and identified strategies and technologies that are available today to help airports maintain or enhance net parking revenues.
The webinar features research from ACRP Research Report 225: Rethinking Airport Parking Facilities to Protect and Enhance Non-Aeronautical Revenues.
This webinar was sponsored by the Airport Cooperative Research Program.
