Abstract: China's urban transportation system is transitioning from an expansion-oriented development to a stage that focuses on incremental and stock-based development, and even to a stock- oriented development phase. Profound demographic changes have further highlighted the importance of building an inclusive mobility environment. Providing high- quality and sustainable mobility options for all population groups has emerged as a central issue in the new era of urban transportation development. On April 18th, 2025, the 39th Urban Transportation Development Forum in China was held in Shanghai, with the theme “Exploration and Practice in Building an Inclusive Mobility Environment.”Forum participants engaged in in-depth discussions on inclusive mobility policies, accessible mobility, healing power and inclusiveness of streets, as well as innovative practices in fostering inclusive mobility environment in cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chongqing. The forum laid a foundation for developing a more equitable, convenient, and human-centered urban transportation system by building consensus, promoting technological innovation, and advancing practical applications. The forum was hosted by the Organizing Committee of the China Urban Transportation Development Forum and organized by Shanghai Urban-Rural Construction and Transportation Development Research Institute.
