【摘 要】一个城市要长久健康地发展必须是可持续性的，城市交通的可持续性是国家和地区可持续发展的核心之一，而公共交通又是可持续交通的支柱。欧洲许多国家通过一系列的“SMILE(微笑)”(Sustainable Mobility Initiatives for Local Environment）项目和活动来达到交通发展的可持续性目的，诸如“无小汽车日(Car Free Day)”、“交通周(Mobility Week)”等活动，国际公共交通联合会(UITP)支持并成为其合作伙伴。欧洲许多城市积极响应并提出了许多战略和策略层面上的措施。中国能源资源有限，大城市交通拥挤状况日趋严重，环境质量不断下降。为了提升国家及城市的竞争力，可借鉴欧洲发达国家城市可持续交通的先进理念和具体措施，实施优先发展城市公共交通的战略，构建高效、和谐、节约型及可持续发展的城市交通系统。

Public Transport: a Pillar for Sustainable Mobility

Abstract: The sustainable development road is important to a city or a region. Sustainable traffic is one of the cores of sustainable development. And public transport is a pillar for sustainable mobility. Many European countries have done many jobs through SMILE(Sustainable Mobility Initiatives for Local Environment) and aimed to realize the sustainable mobility. Some activities such as CAR FREE DAY and MOBILITY WEEK have brought forward many strategic measures. In China, we must use the advanced theory and measures about sustainable traffic of the advanced European countries for reference, and construct harmonious abstemious and sustainable urban transport system.
